Hide and Seek!

I find it amusing when people attempt to mask their identity by utilizing anonymous proxy servers for the purpose of lurking at Internet sites. One cloaked visitor of late caught my attention due to the fact that the preferred mode of transportation was through a service called, hidemyass.com, a site that claims:

"Your IP address will be hidden and changed to our address located in Texas, USA. Your IP address is your online identity and hiding behind ours using the free proxy will enable you to become anonymous."

The IP did not originate from Texas as hidemyass promised. And while my detailed report indicates the region is Aston, Pennsylvania, the postal code along with coordinates pinpoint the IP to Drexel Hill, a distance of about twelve miles from Aston and some 1300 miles from Texas. All of which had no significant meaning to me other than the fact that hidemyass is not a reliable proxy server. As far as I can tell, the only item hidemyass obscured is the link to the URL the visitor requested. The proxy redirected the link back to its own URL, which is a clever way to have the foolhardy advertise their site!

What was baffling, however, is that seven visits had been logged for this IP, and since deceptive people have a tendency to be sloppy, I thought it worthwhile to take a second look at my stats. For lack of a better term I shall refer to the anonymous visitor as ‘Sneaky’.

I learned that all records for pa.comcast.net reported as Aston, Pennsylvania with matching system specs as listed above originated from Drexel Hill unless otherwise noted.

Oops! Sneaky didn’t fare much better with youhide.com or youranonymousproxy.com, but Clifton Heights surely rang a familiar bell!

For over a year I have had a guest whose visits with a Clifton Heights IP were so frequent that, at times, she was in a dead heat with the irritating Contessa for frequent lurker miles. Subsequent to a casual reference concerning her visits in my August entry, the Clifton Heights IP abruptly dropped off the radar screen.

That is, until Sneaky got messy!

What’s interesting about this particular record is the referring URL. In August 2007, a few of my entries were posted in a private area at the Websleuths’ forum. Non-members are denied access to the area. The fact that Sneaky searched for ‘Papillon’ at that forum indicates she had knowledge of the thread’s existence and is a member of Websleuths. It’s also confirmation that Sneaky continues to prowl the Internet at work, all the while visiting my site with her flimsy disguises after hours and weekends. To be certain this is the same cyberslacker and because all stats before September 23rd are long gone from this site, I reviewed the records for ‘Good Timber’, which doesn’t accrue much traffic, where I found an identical match dating back to 2007.

Cyberslacking in the workplace is not only a productivity and financial problem; it’s an inherent liability risk for employers as well. Speaking of risks, Wikipedia explains the hazards involved when using anonymous proxy servers.

Quote: When using a proxy server all data sent to the service being used must pass through the proxy server before being sent to the service, mostly in unencrypted form. It is therefore possible, as has been demonstrated, for a malicious proxy server to record everything sent to the proxy: including unencrypted logins and passwords. Whenever a proxy is used you are at risk that someone "in the middle" can read your data.

In fact, Norton Safe Web analyzed hidemyass.com for safety and security problems and identified three threats to computers.

So, not only are anonymous proxies such as hidemyass ineffectual, but they potentially expose the user to sniffing proxies in addition. I have little sympathy for the habitual lurker who assumes they are pulling the wool over my eyes. And now that I know Sneaky is a Pound mutt by proxy, I’m inclined to be even less charitable. I don’t know why Sneaky is so obsessed with me, but when a person’s virtual addiction requires camouflage the rational conclusion is those visits are not of a sociable nature!

Get a freaking grip, lady! If you don’t want to be seen visiting a site, don’t go there. It's really that simple!

Cease and Desist? Part 2

The scope of trivial details Loretta Serrano and her cohorts compiled about selected targets is staggering and reminiscent of the J. Edgar Hoover era. The minutiae included a list of the subject’s usernames, email addresses, links to blogs or groups the person frequented, open memberships, and closed memberships complete with notations pertaining to her disassociation from certain forums. Personal particulars were noted about spouses, ex-spouses, kids, step-kids, grandparents, in-laws, neighbors, and pets. People who were completely unaware that a loose cannon from Rocky River, Ohio was circulating and publicizing their information. And very much like the former controversial FBI director, accuracy was not an essential element in Loretta’s dossiers, which contained memorandums such as... “I’m still trying to pin this down.”

It takes a special breed of individual to gather and publish information about every branch in your family tree regardless of age, relationship, and whether or not the unwitting victims have an online presence. It’s in the same class as calculating opportunists who would publicize a legal name they captured through a Paypal transaction.

Intimidation and coercion may give Loretta an adrenaline rush, but respectable people along with presidential candidates recognize there’s a species of sucking mole rats that engage in such tactics, which explains why civilized folks advocate the “back off” concept.

Time and again, Loretta Serrano blamed the wrong person for what others had done. When Chrishina Leann Hart spammed misfitting.com, Anita paid the price.

I was sent a link when she opened her comments and as promised I spammed the hell out of her blog, till she called a truce. Out of respect for all of you and Anita I said deal. Hell I had asked for a truce earlier and got shot down. I started not to take it, first thought was don't make deals with the devil. I will have you know my fingers were crossed when I posted deal, heh. I am a troll for petes sake! I had no idea Anita and crew had made this super duper posting area at the time too. I was only trying to do what I thought was best for my bogbusters, though it's not what I wanted to do. ok more in a sec.

On October 9, 2005, Loretta Serrano offered rewards for information about about JA ($500) and Anita($200) at Usenet. She pledged to underwrite $1000 for information about Samantha/Shina by proxy two months later.

By the end of October 2005, Loretta erroneously announced that Peace was responsible for harassing her at Usenet citing AOL IPs as evidence. That’s a remarkable feat considering AOL has 10 million subscribers, none of which can be uniquely identified as their IP address is shared with hundreds if not thousands of other AOL users.

Who’s the “forking MOWron”?

Loretta claims that someone with the nic "Watch Your Step" tried to post comments that could be perceived at kidnapping threats on her blog. Since she has the ability to censor every comment, she was able to stop them before they appeared. She did, however, send them via email to about 40 people.

Unfortunately, in her attempt to warn this "Watch Your Step" entity that she was saving their posts for law enforcement, she forget to change the nic in the "Name" field from the one she'd used to compose the threatening comments, that were not posted but sent to others as "proof," back to her own name.

Dear "Watch your Step."

Or, should we say, "Samantha?" Deanna?

Your threatening posts are being saved for law enforcement. Thanks for escalating. We knew it was only a matter of time.

Yes, it's quite astonishing how much she has escalated in the past few days, Deege. Last night she tried to post some other information that was very threatening and can only be interpreted as a kidnapping threat.

The IP address from "Watch your step" matches the IP address of the "Candle Lover" on Usenet posting illegally obtained information.

Everyone - and I mean everyone - needs to do something about this. Whatever you can do - research, help me report the abuse to Google (since she is using Google to access it and a g-mail address) - email me any contact information.

I think I'll start with the sheriff's departments from both counties involved. If anyone has any experience with this kind of harassment, please e-mail me.

Up to this point, Samantha/Peace/Deanna was just posting pictures of my kids she snagged from my blog and stupid threats. Now, she's gone over the line.

It's time to put a stop to this once and for all. If any of you are friends with any of the people at Lora's site, maybe it's time to get in touch with them and appeal to their common sense.

If this stalker is tracked back to Lora's, all hell will break loose.

Cease and Desist? Part 1

The revelation concerning a Cease & Desist letter authored by Loretta Serrano, owner of http://www.misfitting.com/, took me by surprise because I wasn't notified. After viewing a copy of the document Cathy received, I noticed Loretta made a grave error in attempting to transmit the communication to me. The self-proclaimed sleuth sent it to an email account that's been closed for nearly four years and in doing so... shot herself in the foot!

I have NEVER posted my full legal name in cyberspace on any forum in all the years I’ve had access to the Internet. I’ve never posted my spouse’s name either. Needless to say, when Loretta Serrano aka Loretta Dillon published my personal information at bullybuster burlesque I was perplexed as to how she knew my last name. Puzzle solved!

When Laci Peterson went missing in 2002, I had an ISP with a monthly rate that allowed a limited number of hours. After receiving a hefty bill for exceeding my allotted time I activated a new account with a different service provider that offered unlimited usage. Since I subscribed to various Yahoo groups along with Modbee updates in the original account, I chose to phase it out rather than close it immediately. It became a back-up account where my Peterson case information was temporarily stored until I had time to sort through the documentation. It was also tied in with my Paypal account.

After four months of posting at misfitting.com, I made a contribution through Loretta's Paypal icon. Obviously the email address to my old account accompanied the donation. When the funds were transferred I was identified as the account holder, which is confirmed in Loretta’s note of thanks. Naturally, the account was in my legal name.

The "PAYPAL *RETZQ". transaction listed the account holder’s name as Loretta Smith NOT Loretta Serrano. I don’t know what the repercussions are for opening an account under a bogus name with a company that handles cash transactions. Perhaps the impending Lori Drew trial will spell it all out for us.

The fact is, Loretta’s last name was Smith when she attacked Miss Loveliness in 1998. The assault took place six months after Loretta was awarded a lump sum payment of $9,500.00 for child support in the case of Smith vs Smith , which was ordered to be paid in full by 7/3/98. Yet, within six months, Loretta filed an affidavit of indigency that was approved on 1/13/99 qualifying her for a public defender at the taxpayer's expense. She listed assets of $20.00 cash on hand, $100.00 in checking, and $2500.00 in savings. Missing from the financial disclosure was the recent $9500.00 child support payment, although she added a curious notation alleging, “We are saving for college”.

But I digress.

Any respectable person would be horrified that Loretta Serrano harvested a legal name through a secured electronic cash transfer that she profited from, and then publicized the name while inciting others to cause mental stress. It’s precisely what the bastard did and the evidence is irrefutable. Furthermore, it puts her in the hot seat according to Ohio Stalking Laws , and it should give pause to anyone who entertains the notion of donating to her blog.

It also contradicts Loretta’s version of how personal information was compiled for publication at the fifteen spite blogs she and her partner Anne Curi created.

1. Public records online
2. Personal history
3. Blog posts/comments from existing web sites/blogs on which various people posted their information.
4. Posts and IP tracking from various blogs, namely all the blogs I had as well as others' blogs on which people posted.

None of the personal information was obtained in any underhanded way. All of it was easily obtained and all it took was a little sleuthing. After all, the original premise of everyone's interest in Misfitting was the crime story element. We were little cyber sleuthers, dontcha know.

Personally, I did very little to sleuth. I was too busy or lazy to do it and I always had plenty of volunteers who had lots of time on their hands and were more than happy to do it.

Yes, despite my maligned reputation, I really did not have much time or desire to chase people around the Net. Most of that chasing was done by others (many others) and the info was handed to me on a silver platter.”

Loretta Serrano spent years destroying her own reputation on every major forum in Cyberspace. It didn’t matter whether you were nice to her or found fault with her; Loretta treated everyone that crossed her path with equal disdain. Jbean from Websleuths can attest to that reality.

A photo of my residence was unlawfully swiped from a reevaluation website and subsequently published on a blog Loretta and company created under my legal name. That act violated the company’s ‘Terms and Conditions of Use’ as well as Copyright Laws and is prosecutable under the governing law and jurisdiction of the state of Rhode Island!

Hacking into a yahoo account and stealing emails is indeed a "covert” operation. It's also against the law! The account belonged to Loretta’s sister.

And then there's the chat transcript between Chrishina Leann Hart and another person that was published on one of the spite blogs. Was it a donation?

A classic example of how Loretta Serrano recruited her band of misfits to do her bidding dates back to December 2005 as she posted under yet another alias!

“I'd like to run something by the academy before I do anything. The first time I posted a reward on Aneedaturnbacktime and JA on my blog, D-Paula about fainted.

I know that she would not feel that way, now.

However, I don't think the mutts trust me, and it would be a lot more effective coming from one of you or a group of you.

If one or more of you would sponsor a bounty on Samantha, I would underwrite it. I think it is very possible that with a little financial incentive, someone will spill on her.

Think about it. I will go as high as $1000.

Fascinating! The former indigent offered $1000 for information about a self-professed Internet troll with the brain functionality of an artichoke! Of course this bounty came on the heels of Loretta blaming Peace for things Chrishina/Samantha had done at Usenet. Loretta not only posted personal details about Peace, but also violated the privacy of her family members by publicizing names and providing links to their websites.

Loretta traumatized Peace and threatened to call her employer. The entire exchange is still floating around cyberspace THREE years after the fact! And when all was said and done, Peace felt worse for the children.

Because in Center Field - Part 1

As I stated in Part 1, of "Why's in Left Field", Chase Home Finance filed a “Motion for Relief from the Automatic Stay” requesting that the court allow foreclosure proceedings against Joint Debtors, Kenneth Michael and Chrishina Leann Hart.

On 5/23/07, Judge Paine issued a Notice of Preliminary Hearing and Prehearing Order outlining the procedure to be followed at a court hearing set for 6/11/07.

The Joint Debtors responded to the motion on 5/27/07 alleging they failed to make timely payments because the mister was out of work for awhile, but had since become employed again. The Debtors paid the back payments claiming they could stay current.

Counsel to the Standing Trustee of Chapter 13 responded on 6/1/07, stating that the debtors were in noncompliance with the Plan since they were not making payments as agreed. Therefore, the Trustee did not oppose the Motion for Relief from Stay filed by Chase Home Finance.

If you buy into the notion the “shitload of fun” did a 180 to absolve her friends of Loretta’s wrongful accusations you are an easy sell. The undeniable truth is that only one person benefited from the notorious covenant with Loretta Serrano… namely, Chrishina Leann Hart!

Accumulating more mileage than the 200 leading presidential contenders, Chrishina campaigned vigorously across the Blogosphere clarifying her 5/25/06 pledge of: “No more emails, posts, two faced people, strangers on the internet, no favors, no phone calls, no contact from anyone involved regardless of who it is”

The “stupid troll” headed straight for Anne Curi’s publishing empire where she registered a complaint at KCL’s active Tribute blog as her own spite blog was suspended. Her criticism was duly noted in a commentary dated 6/1/06 @ 20:53:48 by the Brazilian editor-in-chief, which essentially outlined the merits of bipartisan cooperation.

Peace recalled when she began doubting the veracity of Shina’s claims and couldn’t distinguish fact from fiction due to so many discrepancies. In short, Peace was as baffled as everyone else.

Four beleaguered friends trying to comprehend the logic behind what happened. Friends, Chrishina had isolated herself from. Friends she would publicly castigate five months down the road. Friends she eventually blamed for the creation of another Tribute Blog that clearly has her own butt prints all over it.

Had Chrishina kept her pledge and rode off into the sunset, the theory that she wanted to be left out of it forever may have been believable. As it turned out, that wasn’t the case. Within one month the Tennessee traitor furtively executed yet another U-turn by actively participating at The Truth Tree, a blog operated by the individual she blamed most for keeping the flame war going at LH2.

Apparently Chrishina’s agreement with Loretta Serrano was non-binding. Curiously Shina’s spite blog remained closed as the rest were periodically updated.

I remember when KCL confronted Chrishina at The Truth Tree and how shocking it was to learn Shina had been participating anonymously after announcing her retirement from the blogosphere. The incident triggered a heated discussion most of which is no longer available at the site. Posters considered it an issue that should have been resolved through email rather than Miss Loveliness’ blog. The problem with that option is Chrishina had closed her email account in May without leaving a forwarding address.

Miss Loveliness diffused the situation with the following:
